  Joshua Ayala was born in Phoenix, Arizona, and raised in Laveen, where he attended Rosevelt District School Southwest. He is married with two children. Ayala earned an associate degree from Brigham Young University–Idaho in 2019 and has professional experience as a business executive. He is currently a Republican candidate running for election to the Arizona State Senate to represent District 11 in the 2026 primary election.

• Catherine Miranda — Incumbent State Senator in Phoenix, AZ

  Catherine Miranda, born October 5, 1964, in Phoenix, Arizona, is an incumbent Arizona State Senator for District 11, serving since 2023. A Democrat, she previously served in both the Arizona House of Representatives (2011-2015) and Senate (2015-2019). Miranda is a product of District 11's diversity, having grown up in the community her entire life. She earned a teaching degree from Arizona State University and a master's in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University, and has experience from kindergarten student to school administrator. Running for re-election in 2026, she advocates for homelessness, the severely mentally ill, quality education, and job creation initiatives.
