• Angelica Maria Duenas — Community Organizer, Activist in Sun Valley, California

  Angelica Duenas was born and raised in Sun Valley in the San Fernando Valley to parents who immigrated from Mexico. She attended Los Angeles public schools, including Roscoe Elementary School, Byrd Middle School, and Polytechnic High School. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) in 2007 and a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Woodbury University in 2013. Duenas has served on the Sun Valley Neighborhood Council, including two terms as president and one as vice president. She was a delegate for Bernie Sanders at the Democratic National Conventions in 2016 and 2020. She is a mother of five children. She has previously run for this congressional seat in 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024.

• Luz Maria Rivas — United States Representative for California's 29th Congressional District in Los Angeles, California

  Luz Rivas is an engineer, educator, and public servant. Raised in Pacoima by a single mother who immigrated from Mexico, she attended Los Angeles public schools. Rivas earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and later worked as an engineer for Motorola. Motivated to inspire young people, she obtained a Master of Education from Harvard University. In 2012, she founded DIY Girls, a nonprofit organization to encourage girls in the San Fernando Valley to pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Prior to her election to Congress in 2025, she served in the California State Assembly for six years, representing the 43rd and 39th districts.

• Zachary Hunchar — Author and Film Industry Professional in Los Angeles, California

  Zachary Hunchar has over two decades of experience in the Hollywood film industry, having worked at Lionsgate and Paramount. He is also a published author of horror and supernatural comic books and novels. Born in West Reading, Pennsylvania, he graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Science degree. His background also includes work as a crisis counselor.

• Rudy Melendez — Community Prosperity Network Manager in Los Angeles, California

  Rudy Melendez has a background that includes working as a Community Prosperity Network Manager at United Way of Greater Los Angeles. He has been a candidate in several previous elections, including for the Los Angeles City Council in 2020 and 2024, and for the California State Senate in 2018. He also ran for U.S. House California District 29 in 2022.
