- Rob Bonta — Incumbent Attorney General of California in Alameda, California
Robert Andres Bonta, born September 22, 1971, has served as the 34th Attorney General of California since his appointment in 2021. He is the first Filipino American to hold this office. Prior to this role, he was a member of the California State Assembly for the 18th district from 2012 to 2021 and served on the Alameda City Council from 2010 to 2012. Before his career in elected office, Bonta worked as a Deputy City Attorney for the City and County of San Francisco. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Yale University and a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School.
- Marjorie Mikels — Attorney/Peace Activist in Oakland, California
Marjorie Mikels earned a law degree from the UCLA School of Law in 1981 and has been a licensed member of the California State Bar since that year. Before law school, she worked as a social worker and mental health therapist. In 1988, she started her own law firm, Mikels & Associates, serving families and small business owners for decades in Upland. She previously ran for U.S. House to represent California's 11th Congressional District, losing in the primary on March 5, 2024. She closed her law office to move to the Bay Area to be closer to her family and has since been a peace advocate, focusing on International law and activism with groups like Bay Area Code Pink. She is running as part of the 'Left Unity Slate' for the 2026 election.
- Michael E. Gates — Huntington Beach City Attorney in Huntington Beach, CA
Michael E. Gates is an attorney and the Huntington Beach City Attorney. A lifelong Californian, he worked in private practice as a litigator and trial attorney before being elected Huntington Beach City Attorney in 2014, winning re-election multiple times. In 2025, Gates briefly served as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division before returning to his local office. He is running as a Republican for Attorney General of California in 2026.
