Ada Briceño immigrated to California from Nicaragua with her family at the age of seven to flee a dictatorship. She began working at age 14 to help support her family. At 18, she became a hotel desk clerk and joined the UNITE-HERE Local 11 union. She quickly rose in union leadership, becoming the first Latina President of her union at age 26. Today, she serves as the Co-President of UNITE-HERE Local 11, representing over 32,000 hotel workers in Southern California and Arizona. In 2019, she was elected Chair of the Democratic Party of Orange County, becoming the first immigrant to hold the position, and stepped down in 2025 to run for State Assembly. She was also elected as a Democratic National Committee Member for California in 2020.

Ali Taj was born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan, and immigrated to the United States in the late 1990s. He earned bachelor's degrees in economics and political science and a master's in public administration. After initially struggling to find work, he built a career in the financial services industry, holding positions at American Express, Ameriprise Financial, and T.D. Ameritrade before starting his own investment fund. Taj was first elected to the Artesia City Council in 2013 and has served as Mayor. He also served as President of the League of California Cities.

Mark Pulido is a long-time resident of Cerritos, California. His career in public service began at age 32 on the ABC Unified School District Board of Education, where he served three terms, including as Board President. He was first elected to the Cerritos City Council in 2011, earning the most votes in the city's history, and was re-elected in 2015. He served two terms as Mayor of Cerritos in 2014-2015 and 2018-2019. Professionally, Pulido has worked in local, state, and federal government for nearly three decades, including as a consultant to the California Speaker, a State Senate District Director, and as District Chief of Staff to Congressman Alan Lowenthal. He earned a bachelor's degree in History and Asian American Studies from UCLA, where he was the first Filipino American elected student body president, and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago.

Like his father before him, he has experienced the highs and lows of small business ownership, including the struggles of the COVID-19 pandemic, during which he worked to secure relief funds for families and businesses in need.Adrian’s family story reflects the American Dream: his grandfather crossed the border at age 13 seeking opportunity..
