• Carolyn Essex — Community Organizer and Political Activist in null, California

  Carolyn Essex is a community organizer and political activist who was born in Watts, California. She attended Loma Linda Academy and studied Business Administration and Psychology at Cal State University Los Angeles. She had an 18-year career with the City of Los Angeles, Community Development Department. Her political involvement began in 2007, and she has served as an Assembly District Leader and held positions within the Clark County and Nevada State Central Committees. She has also been the President of the North Las Vegas Township Democratic Club. Essex has received political training from Emerge Nevada. She identifies as a messaging and brand strategist for advocacy groups focused on civil and human rights.

• Joshua Alder Lowenthal — Member of the California State Assembly, 69th District in Long Beach, California

  Josh Lowenthal was elected to the California State Assembly in November 2022. He is the son of politicians Alan and Bonnie Lowenthal. Born in Long Beach, California, he attended Cornell University for his undergraduate degree and the University of California, San Diego for his master's. Before entering politics, Lowenthal worked as a teacher and an entrepreneur in the tech and telecom industries, owning restaurants and a conference calling company. He previously ran for the State Assembly in 2018 unsuccessfully before winning the newly-redrawn 69th district in 2022.
