Michael A. Cheokas, born May 27, 1953, is a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing the 138th District, which includes Sumter, Schley, Marion, and Chattahoochee counties. He holds degrees from Emory University and Pierce College and is a businessman by profession. First elected in 2004, he served until 2016, then successfully ran again in 2018. Cheokas serves on committees including Appropriations, Defense & Veterans Affairs, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Interstate Cooperation, Juvenile Justice, Small Business Development, and State Properties. He and his wife, Gaynor, have three children and reside in Americus, Georgia.
