Michelle Hsiao Au is an American anesthesiologist and a Democratic politician serving in the Georgia House of Representatives for District 50 since 2023. She was previously the first Asian American elected to the Georgia State Senate, representing the 48th District. Born in New York City to Chinese-American immigrant physicians, Au graduated from Hunter College High School, Wellesley College with a B.A. in Psychobiology, and Columbia University with an M.D. and Master of Public Health. She announced her bid for House District 50 in 2021 after her State Senate district was redrawn by the Republican-controlled legislature. Au is also the author of the 2011 book, "This Won't Hurt a Bit (and Other White Lies)."

She is running to defend safe streets, strong schools, and limited government, drawing on her experience with one-party control. Her platform includes pro-life positions, Second Amendment rights, parental rights in education, school choice, supporting law enforcement, and promoting a pro-business environment and fiscal responsibility.
