Rakesh Mohan, a passionate advocate for public service, is running for Idaho State Controller. An immigrant from India, he has called Idaho home for 23 years, raising his family there. With over three decades as a public policy researcher, data analyst, and performance auditor, Mohan led Idaho’s Office of Performance Evaluations for 21 years. In that role, he was known for his independent, objective, and nonpartisan work, improving state services and achieving significant tax savings. He aims to bring these professional ethics and problem-solving skills to the State Controller's office, driven by a belief that good government thrives when dedicated individuals step forward. He is inspired by figures like Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr.
- Brandon D Woolf — Incumbent State Controller in Boise, ID
Brandon D. Woolf is Idaho's 21st State Controller, an office he has held since his 2012 appointment and subsequent elections in 2014, 2018, and 2022. A Republican, he was born in Logan, Utah, and raised in Preston, Idaho. He holds degrees from Utah State University and Boise State University. Woolf began his career in the State Controller's Office in 1997, moving up from intern to Chief of Staff before becoming Controller. He seeks re-election in 2026, prioritizing government transparency, financial oversight, efficiency, cost reduction, and modernizing state accounting and payroll services. He is married with three children.
