Jeff Shipley, born in Euclid, Ohio, in 1988 and raised in Naperville, Illinois, is an incumbent Iowa State Representative for District 87. He earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Iowa in 2010 and has been a Fairfield resident since 2011. First assuming office in 2019, he currently serves as Chair of the International Relations Committee and Vice Chair of Higher Education and Government Oversight. Shipley is running for re-election in the Republican primary on June 2, 2026. He has publicly stated that "white privilege" is "racist on its face" and supported making Ivermectin available over the counter, a stance which led to a controversial public exchange in 2026.
