Stacy Besch is seeking election to the Iowa State Senate, representing District 5, in the 2026 Republican primary. Her platform includes protecting the right to life, eradicating human trafficking, shielding children from online predators, reintroducing morality and religious texts in schools while dismantling DEI, defending Second Amendment rights, protecting seniors from euthanasia, advocating medical freedom, and addressing property tax inflation through eliminating wasteful spending. Dave Rowley is an incumbent conservative Republican State Senator for Iowa's District 5, seeking re-election in 2026. Born in Cedar Rapids, he holds a psychology degree from the University of Iowa. He and his wife, Kris, have lived in Spirit Lake for 30 years, raising four children. A retired entrepreneur in real estate and insurance, he is also a professional musician and Iowa Rock N Roll Hall of Fame inductee. First elected in 2021 and re-elected in 2022, he chairs the Ethics Committee and vice-chairs Ways and Means. Rowley advocates for constitutional rights, individual liberties, family support, and common-sense solutions.
