A former high school math and computer science teacher, he paused his master's studies to campaign after a senate seat opened. Burnett advocates for decoupling healthcare from employment, exploring universal healthcare options, statewide broadband expansion, and residential solar initiatives. He seeks to reform drug policy by offering help rather than blame, exploring "Fix Rooms" for addiction treatment, and supports state funding for education to reduce property tax burden. He is deeply involved in his community, serving on the Hiram Conservation Committee and as a director for the Francis Small Heritage Trust.

• Kimberly J Pomerleau — Incumbent State Representative in Standish, ME

  Kimberly Pomerleau is an incumbent Republican State Representative for Maine’s House District 85, currently serving her second term. A dedicated small businesswoman, she is the owner of Roadway Utility Transfers MFG of Standish and formerly owned Maine-ly Heating Oil. Pomerleau currently serves on the Legislature's Joint Standing Committee on State and Local Government, as well as the Elections Committee. She is now seeking election to the Maine State Senate, representing District 22, and is on the ballot for the Republican primary on June 9, 2026.
