James H. McNeill is a Republican candidate running to represent Councilmanic District 5 on the Maryland Republican Central Committee. Based in Anne Arundel County, McNeill brings a long background in public safety and business to his political efforts. He is a small-business owner and has previously worked for the Maryland Transportation Authority, the Maryland Aviation Administration, and the Annapolis City Police Department. In addition to his Central Committee campaign, McNeill ran in the Republican primary for Anne Arundel County Sheriff in 2022 and has also filed to run for the sheriff's office again in the upcoming 2026 primary election.

Everett Sesker is the 121st and first African American Sheriff of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, sworn into office on December 6, 2022. A Democrat, his term is four years. Sesker is a veteran of the Prince George's County Police Department, where he served for 22 years and retired with the rank of Major. He has also served as the Commander of the Training and Education Division and the Narcotic Enforcement Division. Prior to his election as Sheriff, he was appointed by Governor Larry Hogan to be the Executive Director of the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission. He is a graduate of Winthrop University with a B.A. in communications and political science.

Jim Fredericks is a Republican candidate for Sheriff of Anne Arundel County. A lifelong county resident, he previously served as Sheriff from 2018 to 2022. With over 30 years of law enforcement experience, including 26 years with the Anne Arundel County Police Department, Fredericks has a background in local, state, and federal law enforcement. He holds an A.A. in criminal justice from Anne Arundel Community College and a B.A. in labor studies. As sheriff, he implemented a body-worn camera program and expanded courthouse security measures. Fredericks is focused on reducing outstanding warrants and enhancing partnerships with other law enforcement agencies.
