- Sam Cogen — Sheriff in Baltimore City, Maryland
Sam Cogen, a Democrat, is the 41st Sheriff of Baltimore City, elected in November 2022. He assumed office on November 30, 2022. A graduate of Goucher College with a degree in Sociology, Cogen began his career as an intern in the Sheriff's Office. Over 25 years, he rose through the ranks to become the third-highest-ranking member before his election. As sheriff, he is focused on modernizing the office, humanizing the eviction process, and increasing community engagement. Cogen resides in South Baltimore with his wife. He is a member of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for Baltimore City.

Sabrina Tapp-Harper, a Democratic candidate for Baltimore City Sheriff, has a law enforcement career spanning nearly four decades. She retired from the Baltimore City Police Department as a Major, having been the first Black commander of the Northern District and the first woman to lead the Special Investigations Division. In the Baltimore City Sheriff's Office, she became the highest-ranking woman in the agency's history as Assistant Sheriff and was tapped to lead the newly formed Domestic Violence Unit in 2014. Her advocacy for the Violence Against Women Act earned her an invitation to the White House from President Barack Obama.
