  Drew Morrison is a Democratic candidate for Montgomery County Council in District 1. A long-time Bethesda resident, he has a background in public service, including working as a Legislative Senior Aide to former District 1 Councilmember Roger Berliner. In this role, he contributed to major policy reforms such as the creation of the nation's first County-level Green Bank to fund clean energy projects. Morrison has also served as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Maryland Department of Transportation since 2023, where he was recognized as “Employee of the Year” in the Secretary's Office in 2024. His platform focuses on growing good-paying jobs, addressing the cost of living, and investing in education and infrastructure.

• Debbie Spielberg — County Council in Councilmanic District 1, Maryland

  Debbie Spielberg is a Democratic candidate for Montgomery County Council in District 1. With over 15 years of experience in county government, she has served as a special assistant to County Executive Marc Elrich and as a legislative aide. Previously, she was the legislative director for the late Congressman John Lewis. Spielberg has also been actively involved in the community as a PTA president and cluster coordinator, and chaired campaigns for State Senator Jamie Raskin and Marc Elrich. A long-time resident of Montgomery County, she is a graduate of Swarthmore College. Her campaign focuses on issues such as housing affordability, environmental protection, and economic development.

• Julie Yang — County Council in Councilmanic District 1, Maryland

  Julie Yang, a Democrat running for Montgomery County Council in District 1, is a community advocate and educator with over two decades of experience. An immigrant from China, she has dedicated her career to public service, working as a teacher, instructional data analyst, and college and career counselor in Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). In 2022, she was elected to the Montgomery County Board of Education and currently serves as its president. A long-time county resident, she is also a former PTA leader and the founder of a non-profit supporting students with special needs. Her campaign focuses on educational excellence and economic opportunity.

• Reardon "Sully" Sullivan — Republican Central Committee At Large in Montgomery County At-Large, Maryland

  Reardon "Sully" Sullivan is a Republican candidate for the Republican Central Committee At Large in Montgomery County, Maryland. A long-time resident, he graduated from Wootton High School, earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Maryland, and pursued an MBA at George Washington University. Sullivan founded a consulting engineering firm, gaining over three decades of business experience. Active in local politics, he served as Chairman and First Vice Chair of the Montgomery County Republican Party. He also ran for County Executive in 2022 and organized successful ballot initiatives focused on term limits and fiscal accountability.
