Naviwala aims to reduce the influence of corporate interests in county government to better serve the community. He is committed to overhauling the Board of Appeals to protect residents' interests from issues like quarry blasting and plastics burning.

• Christiana Rigby — County Council in Councilmanic District 3, Maryland

  Christiana Rigby is a Democratic member of the Howard County Council, representing District 3. A lifelong resident of the district, she is a graduate of the Howard County Public School System and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she studied environmental science. Prior to her election in 2018, Rigby worked as a community organizer, focusing on consumer protection, environmental regulations, and LGBTQ+ employment rights. On the council, she has focused on issues such as educational equity, affordable housing, and climate resiliency. Rigby was the first openly queer person elected to the council and the youngest woman to serve as its Chair. She was re-elected for a second term in 2022.
