• Kavonte Duckett — County Council in Councilmanic District 4, Maryland

  Kavonte Duckett is a Democratic Vice-President of the Frederick County Council, representing District 4 in Maryland. A 7th-generation native of Frederick, he made history in November 2022 by becoming the first African American elected to the Frederick County Government. Duckett is a graduate of Tuscarora High School and Frederick Community College, where he served as President of the Student Government Association. His professional background includes serving as Director of Operations at the Rollins Life Celebration Center and as Director of the Alan P. Linton Jr. Emergency Shelter. He is active in numerous community organizations.

• Chaz Packan — County Council in Councilmanic District 4, Maryland

  Chaz Packan is a Republican candidate for County Council in Councilmanic District 4 of Frederick County, Maryland. A lifelong resident of the county, he is a graduate of Linganore High School. His interest in politics began at age 17 when he joined the Frederick County Republican Club. In 2018, Packan ran for the Frederick County Board of Education. Following that election, he served as a legislative aide to Delegate Dan Cox in Annapolis during the 2019 legislative session and part of the following year. Packan is running on a platform of fiscal responsibility, educational opportunity, and accountable local government.
