Shawn McIntosh is a Democratic candidate for Baltimore County Council in District 5. With over two decades of experience in the nonprofit sector, she has focused on public health, education, and community development. Since 2016, McIntosh has served as the Executive Director of Sugar Free Kids Maryland, where she has led successful campaigns for healthier vending laws and the passage of a Healthy Kids' Meal Bill in Baltimore. Her career also includes roles at the American Public Health Association and the American Diabetes Association's Maryland chapter. A graduate of St. Mary's College of Maryland, she is a community advocate and parent.

Theaux M. LeGardeur is a Republican candidate for Baltimore County Council in District 5. A small business owner for over 25 years, he runs a fly-fishing shop in Monkton. LeGardeur is also a dedicated environmentalist with more than two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, notably as the founder of Gunpowder RIVERKEEPER®. His campaign platform emphasizes fiscal responsibility, strengthening communities, and protecting the local environment and farmland. He is a strong advocate for holding the line on the Urban Rural Demarcation Line (URDL) to prevent sprawl and protect water resources.

Nino Mangione is a Republican candidate running for Baltimore County Council in Councilmanic District 5. A lifelong resident of Baltimore County, he previously served in the Maryland House of Delegates. A graduate of Towson University, where he studied political science, Mangione also has a background in radio, serving as the news and editorial director for WCBM. Known for his conservative principles, his platform emphasizes fiscal responsibility, public safety, and pushing back against what he terms "'WOKE' policies". He has been a vocal opponent of tax increases and a strong supporter of law enforcement.
