  Talibah Chikwendu is a non-partisan candidate for the Dorchester County Board of Education, representing Councilmanic District 2 in Maryland. Appointed to the seat in April 2024 following a vacancy, she became Vice President of the board. A native of the county, Chikwendu is an educator who previously taught English at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School. Before education, she spent 14 years as a journalist, serving as managing and executive editor for local newspapers. Chikwendu holds an M.B.A. in Project Management and an M.S. in School Librarianship. She resides in Cambridge and has one child.
