Alicia Contreras-Donello is a Democratic candidate for the Maryland House of Delegates in Legislative District 14. A working mother, proud daughter of immigrants, and long time public servant, she brings nearly two decades of public service experience as a U.S. Diplomat and Foreign Service Officer with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Throughout her career, she coordinated economic development programs and humanitarian aid efforts in numerous countries across Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Contreras-Donello's platform is centered on strengthening education, ensuring safe and healthy communities, and fostering a prosperous economy. If elected, she would become the first Latina to represent District 14.
- Anne R. Kaiser — House of Delegates in Legislative District 14, Maryland
Anne R. Kaiser has served as a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 14 since her election in 2003. Born in Washington, D.C., on February 10, 1968, she was raised in Rockville, Maryland. Kaiser's academic background includes a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Chicago and two master's degrees from the University of Michigan, one in public policy and another in educational studies. Before entering public office, she worked as a policy analyst for the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Within the House of Delegates, she has held significant leadership positions, including House Majority Leader. Kaiser also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland's School of Public Policy.
- Bernice Mireku-North — House of Delegates in Legislative District 14, Maryland
Bernice Mireku-North is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates, where she represents District 14. Appointed to the position by Governor Larry Hogan, she officially assumed office on January 11, 2023. Professionally, Mireku-North is an attorney and the managing attorney of The North Law Group, LLC. Her legal background includes valuable experience serving as a former Assistant State's Attorney for Anne Arundel County. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, and earned her Juris Doctor from the prestigious Howard University School of Law. In her legislative capacity, she is an active member of the Ways and Means Committee, the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland, and the Women Legislators of Maryland.
- Matt Post — House of Delegates in Legislative District 14, Maryland
Matt Post is a Democratic candidate for the Maryland House of Delegates in Legislative District 14. A lifelong resident of the district, Post is a graduate of Sherwood High School and Yale Law School. He currently serves as a legal staffer for the Maryland State Education Association. Previously, Post was the Student Member of the Board of Education for Montgomery County for the 2017-18 school year, a role in which he advocated for increased mental health resources and secured funding for immigrant students. Post has also been involved in the gun safety movement, leading March For Our Lives's 2018 new voter turnout program and directing its legal team. He is running for one of three seats in the district.
