Her background in community leadership includes serving as president of the Montgomery County Women's Democratic Club and as a member of the Maryland Commission for Women. In 2019, she co-founded the Up 2 Us Foundation with her daughter to address food insecurity. Ahmad currently serves on the board of Interfaith Works and the Western Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Board. She holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and a master's degree in Journalism.
