• Jim Rosapepe — State Senator in Legislative District 21, Maryland

  Jim Rosapepe is a Democratic member of the Maryland State Senate, representing District 21 since assuming office in 2007. He currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Budget and Taxation Committee. His extensive public service career includes serving in the Maryland House of Delegates from 1987 to 1997. Following his time in the state legislature, President Bill Clinton appointed Rosapepe to be the United States Ambassador to Romania, a role he held from 1998 to 2001. He has also served on the Board of Regents for the University System of Maryland. Born in Rome, Italy, Rosapepe co-authored the book "Dracula is Dead" with his wife, Sheilah Kast.

  Lee Havis is a Republican candidate for the Maryland State Senate, representing District 21. He has previously run for this office, advancing from the Republican primaries in both 2018 and 2022. In the 2022 general election, he was defeated by the incumbent, Jim Rosapepe. Havis's professional experience includes working as an assistant professor at the University of Panama and founding the International Montessori Society. He has also been involved with several grassroots Republican organizations, including Citizens for a Better Prince George's County, Maryland Grassroots Republicans, and the Free State Patriots. Additionally, he is a member of the Northern Prince George's County Republican Club.
