Dalya Attar is a Democratic politician who has served in the Maryland General Assembly since 2019. She currently represents District 41 in the Maryland State Senate, a position she assumed in January 2025. Prior to her tenure in the Senate, Attar represented the same district in the Maryland House of Delegates from 2019 until 2025. Her election marked a significant milestone, as she became the first Orthodox Jewish person to serve in the Maryland General Assembly. Before her career in public service, Attar worked as an assistant state's attorney in Baltimore. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from the University of Baltimore.
