Malcolm Augustine is a Democratic politician representing Maryland's 47th Legislative District in the State Senate, a position he has held since January 9, 2019. In 2023, he was appointed to serve as the Senate President Pro Tem. Born in Lafayette, Louisiana, on March 10, 1969, Augustine graduated from Harvard University in 1991 with a degree in government. His career before entering the senate included roles in business development and as a business executive. Augustine's prior public service includes serving on the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority Board of Directors and as chair of the Prince George's County Cable Television Commission.
