• Stephanie L. Mcgowan — Incumbent Council Member in Rutherford, NJ

  Stephanie McGowan is an incumbent Councilwoman in Rutherford, currently serving her fourth term and as Council President. Elected as a Democrat in November 2014, her public service began in January 2015. Recognized as an Outstanding Woman in Municipal Government, she has held various leadership roles including Borough Fire Commissioner, and liaised for Recreation, Finance, and Public Works. A strong advocate for individuals with disabilities, Ms. McGowan introduced the "Access For All" initiative in 2015, adopted county-wide to champion inclusion and support Rutherford's Stigma-Free efforts. She also serves on the Bergen County Advisory Board for Disability Services. Her extensive committee involvement demonstrates a deep commitment to community service.

• Jarrod L. Schaeffer — Private Attorney in Rutherford, NJ

  Jarrod Schaeffer is a Democratic candidate for Council in Rutherford, New Jersey, running in the June 2, 2026 primary election. He brings integrity, energy, and practical problem-solving skills, drawing on his experience as a former federal prosecutor in Manhattan and his current role as a private attorney. Schaeffer actively serves his community as a Rutherford Civil Rights Commissioner and a volunteer youth soccer coach. He is an alumnus of Boston University School of Law and Cornell University, and was honored as a NYC & NYS “40 Under 40 Rising Star” in 2025. He is a proud husband to Chris Christiana.

• Susan E. Quatrone — Attorney in Rutherford, NJ

  Susan E. Quatrone is a Democratic candidate for Rutherford City Council. An accomplished civil law attorney, she advocates for veterans, seniors, and immigrants. A University of Pennsylvania and Fordham Law School alumna, she was a Congressional aide. Raised in Rutherford, she returned to town with her daughter. She is an elected member of the Bergen County Democratic Committee and Co-President of the Junior Woman’s Club of Rutherford, leading community food drives and local fundraising. Quatrone champions preserving Rutherford’s historic landmarks, including the William Carlos Williams Center and the Newman Theater, aiming to transform it into a cultural hub.
