  Betty Lou Velez-Gimbel is a 52-year-old Republican candidate for Howell Township Council At-Large. A lifelong educator, she has served for eight years as a middle school guidance counselor in Toms River Regional Schools, preceded by two decades as a teacher. She holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in Education. Married for 28 years to Charles Gimbel, she is part of a large, loving family. She has no prior experience in elected office or government appointments. She was selected by the Republican County Committee for the 2026 Municipal Election season.

  Michael Wrubel is an appointed Councilmember, bringing significant expertise as a civil engineer with extensive experience in the geotechnical field. His professional background has been a valuable asset in his prior service on both the Zoning Board and the Planning Board. He is a proud resident of Howell, married with children, and has demonstrated a commitment to serving his community.
