Anibal Ramos Jr. has been the North Ward Council Member for the City of Newark since July 2006. He has a background in management and public administration, having previously worked with Newark Public Schools and the County of Essex. Ramos graduated with high honors from Rutgers University with a degree in urban history and political science and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He started his career at FOCUS Hispanic Community Development, Inc., a non-profit organization. In 2014, he founded the Anibal Ramos Jr. Civic Association, which provides scholarships to Newark students.
