  Michael C. Sachs is a long-serving Republican politician and lifelong resident of Hazlet, New Jersey, where he graduated from Raritan High School in 1977. First elected to the Township Committee in 1997, he has served for 21 years, including seven as Mayor and five as Deputy Mayor. He is currently serving as Mayor in 2025. In 2024, he was inducted into the New Jersey League of Municipalities' Elected Officials' Hall of Fame for his dedication to local government. Sachs has also chaired Hazlet's Planning and Unified Land Use Boards. He aims to ensure Hazlet remains a great place to live and work. He is married to Kathy, and they have two children.
