  Rod Montoya, born October 25, 1966, in Farmington, New Mexico, is an incumbent Republican State Representative for New Mexico's 1st District, a position he has held since 2015. A real estate broker by profession, Montoya was elected House Minority Leader in April 2024. He is currently seeking re-election in the 2026 New Mexico Primary Election. Throughout his legislative career, Montoya has served as Ranking Member of the House Energy, Environment & Natural Resources Committee and a Member of the House Taxation & Revenue Committee. He also contributes to several interim committees focusing on mortgage finance, economic development, land grants, transportation infrastructure, and water resources.
