  Laura Dronen is a Democratic candidate for the North Dakota House of Representatives, seeking to represent District 21 in the 2026 primary election. An organizer at heart, she currently serves as the Communications and Digital Director for the North Dakota Democratic-NPL, a role she has held since November 2021. Prior to this, Dronen worked as a Field Representative for U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp. She advocates for affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare. On economic issues, Dronen believes tax relief should prioritize North Dakota citizens over out-of-state corporations and calls for increased oversight of data centers and artificial intelligence, advocating for an end to their sales tax exemptions.

  Lauriebeth Hager is an incumbent Democratic State Representative for District 21 in North Dakota, first elected in 2018 and reelected in 2022. She is seeking reelection in 2026. Prior to her legislative career, Hager worked as a college student affairs counselor and administrator, holding a BS in Psychology and an MS in Counselor Education. As a legislator, she has advocated for raising the minimum wage and funding school meals for students.
