Holston is running for the South Carolina House of Representatives to prioritize community needs over politics and represent all constituents. His platform focuses on lowering costs for families, including reducing state income tax, investing in infrastructure like roads and rural broadband, and improving public education funding and healthcare access.   Melissa Lackey Oremus, born in Aiken, South Carolina in 1978, is an American politician serving as an incumbent member of the South Carolina House of Representatives for District 84 since 2019. A Republican, she holds a B.S. from the University of South Carolina Aiken and an M.S.M. from Southern Wesleyan University. She is also a small business owner. Oremus is a member of the South Carolina Freedom Caucus and serves on the House Labor, Commerce and Industry Committee, where she is also a member of subcommittees on Real Estate (Vice Chair) and Banking and Insurance. She resides in Aiken with her husband, James, and their three children. She is an NRA member and attends Christian Heritage Church.
