Sabi "Doc" Kumar is an Indian-American politician, physician, and writer, currently serving as an incumbent Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives for District 66 since 2015. A retired general and vascular surgeon, Dr. Kumar immigrated to the United States from India in 1970 and later settled in Springfield, Tennessee. He is the first Indian American elected to the Tennessee State House and chairs the House Insurance Committee. Recently, he secured over $38,000 in state funding for arts organizations in Robertson County, highlighting his commitment to community development. He is seeking re-election in the 2026 primary.
