• Michele Carringer — Incumbent Tennessee House of Representatives - District 16 in TN

  Michele Carringer is an incumbent Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives, representing District 16. She assumed office in November 2020 and is seeking re-election in the August 6, 2026 Republican primary. Born on February 4, 1962, she is a graduate of Central High School and the University of Tennessee. Carringer previously served on the Knox County Commission from 2009 to 2010, where she was vice-chair. She also held leadership roles within the Knox County Republican Party as First Vice Chair and secretary. Carringer is running to continue her service in the state house.

  Eliza Boles is a legal educator and experienced law librarian currently seeking election to the Tennessee House of Representatives, representing District 16, in the 2026 Democratic primary. She serves as the Head of Research and Instructional Services and an Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she leads a team and teaches Advanced Legal Research and Law Practice Technology. With a Juris Doctorate from the University of Tennessee, a Master of Library and Information Science from Wayne State University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Tusculum College, Boles is an expert in applied artificial intelligence and law practice technology. She is actively involved in professional associations and has contributed extensively to legal and library publications.
