• David Miller — Founder and Vice President of Coastal Cremations Inc. in Southport, North Carolina

  David Miller is a Brunswick County native who was born at Dosher Hospital and attended South Brunswick High School. He is the founder and vice president of Coastal Cremations Inc., which has three locations in the region. Miller is also a retired lieutenant from the Southport Fire Department, where he was involved in fundraising activities. In September 2024, he was named as a new board member for the Dosher Memorial Hospital Foundation. He previously ran for the Southport Board of Alderman for Ward 1 in 2019.

• Jimmy Matlock — Small business owner in Lenoir City, TN

  Jimmy Matlock, born in Loudon, Tennessee in 1959, is a local businessman and owner of Matlock Tire Corporation. A Republican, he previously served in the Tennessee House of Representatives for District 21 from 2007 to 2019. Matlock announced his intention to run for Tennessee State Senate District 5 in March 2026, seeking a return to state government. He possesses an extensive background in community and public service, having chaired the Loudon County Republican Party and served on various civic and business boards. He attended Middle Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and is married with three children.
