Candidate for Representative in CongressDemocratic Party
Flagstaff, AZ
Jonathan Nez, former President of the Navajo Nation, grew up in rural Arizona, where his family ran a ranch without running water or electricity. He began his public service career in Shonto before his presidential election in 2018. Now, Nez is making his second bid as a Democrat for Arizona's 2nd Congressional District in 2026, challenging incumbent Rep. Eli Crane. He aims to become the first Native American to represent Arizona in Congress. His campaign criticizes Crane on tariffs and healthcare costs, advocating for rural Arizonans. Nez resides in Flagstaff with his family.
