About
Shawn Keenan is a Democratic candidate for Idaho Secretary of State in the 2026 election, having previously run in 2022. A North Idaho native, he resides in Coeur d'Alene and holds a communications degree from Lewis-Clark State College. A political activist since childhood, Keenan currently works as a senior loan consultant. He is motivated to run due to concerns about candidates seeking the Secretary of State office for "nefarious purposes" and spreading "myths and disinformation" about elections, aiming to protect democracy and ensure community values are reflected at the polls.
