Dyotha R. Sweat is a Democratic candidate running for Charles County Commissioner President in Maryland. Born in Virginia and raised in New Jersey, she proudly served in the United States Navy for 24 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. Sweat holds a BA in Sociology and an MBA in Information System Management, currently working as a cybersecurity professional for a Department of Defense contractor. A dedicated community leader, she has served as President of the Charles County NAACP since 2019 and is an active member of several veterans and civic organizations. Her campaign prioritizes affordable housing, economic growth, veterans' support, and advocating for aging residents.
