  I have known Mike for many years. I have complete confidence in him as a friend and as the mayor of our great small town! Mike has, is and will continue to be the respectful, responsible and knowledgeable leader that we need in city government. I am pleased that Ms. Carlson is competing with Mike for this position. It’s refreshing to hear other voices. However at this time, as we welcome a new city manager and in the midst of a variety of development challenges, we need the knowledge, background and experience that Mike has and will provide.

  I support La Crescent Mayor Mike Poellinger. Mike is highly intelligent, experienced, trustworthy, and reliable. His extensive experience is one of his greatest strengths, and he is a strong advocate for the city. He and others have worked to secure significant grant funding for the city, and he carefully considers all sides of complex issues. Although some unpopular decisions are driven by state requirements, Mike is often unfairly blamed for them. He listens to residents, welcomes different perspectives, and works diligently for the best interests of La Crescent. Mike is always looking forward.

  I’ve known Mike Poellinger for as long as I can remember. We didn’t just grow up in the same hometown—we grew up together, sharing the everyday moments, milestones, laughs, challenges, and memories that turn a friendship into something much deeper. Over all these years, I’ve had the privilege of seeing Mike not only as my lifelong friend, but as someone who has consistently shown up for the people and community we both love. For over two decades, Mike has dedicated countless hours to serving our hometown, and I’ve watched and heard about that commitment up close. After a lifetime of knowing the person behind the public service, I can say with genuine pride that the qualities I have valued in my friend for all these years—integrity, loyalty, compassion, and a deep love for LaCrescent—are the same qualities he brings to public service. I’m proud to stand beside my lifelong friend and endorse Mike Poellinger for Mayor of LaCrescent.   I served for many years as the Community as the Chair of Planning and Zoning Commission. I had a working relationship with the City Council and City Staff. Mike although he has served several terms is encouraging of new ideas and new people to join city committees. Mike has a wealth of experience and with a new city administrator continuity is important. There is wealth of knowledge earned through experience and Mike's experience will be helpful Mike runs Council meetings were everyone gets their say. That is important in a small community. Mike, as Mayor, and the Council leave the City with better roads, sewers, policies, Police and Fire Departments than the year before. That progress is continual and the incumbents who are running again have earned re-election.

Having worked with him through the La Crescent Chamber of Commerce for many years, I’ve found him to be very honest and respectful of others.   As a lifelong resident of La Crescent, I’ve known Mike for many years. I served on the La Crescent Planning Commission, so I was aware that Mike was looking out for the future of La Crescent. I served on the La Crescent Fire Department and the Apple Fest board with Mike. He has character and dedication along with community roots and the capability to continue to lead our community as La Crescent Mayor. He has my vote.
