About
Andy Matthews is the incumbent Nevada State Controller, elected in 2022 as a Republican and now seeking re-election in 2026. He champions government transparency, demonstrated by launching Nevada’s online checkbook, checkbook.nv.gov, within his first year to provide real-time state spending data. Matthews also advocates for creating a Nevada Office of Inspector General to audit state funds. Previously, he served as a Nevada Assemblyman for District 37 and President of the Nevada Policy Research Institute. He promises to continue the fight for transparent, efficient, and responsible government.
