About
Frederick R. Goodwin is a Democratic candidate seeking election to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing South Carolina's 6th Congressional District in the 2026 election cycle. He officially filed his candidacy with the South Carolina Election Commission on March 30, 2026. Goodwin is actively running in the Democratic primary, which is set for June 9, 2026, where he is challenging incumbent Jim Clyburn. His current campaign unfolds amid discussions of a new congressional redistricting plan in South Carolina, a proposal that could reshape the 6th District and potentially postpone the primary elections. Goodwin previously ran for Santee Town Council in November 2025.
