Adrian C. Madaro is a first-generation American and lifelong East Boston resident who has represented the 1st Suffolk District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives since 2015. A graduate of Boston Latin School and Tufts University, where he later earned a master's degree in urban and environmental policy and planning, he served as legislative aide and then chief of staff to his predecessor, Rep. Carlo Basile, before winning the seat in 2015. He chairs the Joint Committee on Mental Health, Substance Use and Recovery and has focused on public transportation equity, immigrant communities, civil rights, environmental justice, and expanding green and open space in East Boston.
