Alfred E. Taylor has been a member of the New York State Assembly since winning a special election in 2017. A lifelong resident of Harlem, he previously served as Chief of Staff to his predecessor, Herman "Denny" Farrell, Jr. Taylor served in the United States Army's Military Police Corps. He earned a B.A. in Public Communication from Lehman College, a Master of Divinity from Nyack College Alliance Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate of Ministry from Northeastern Seminary. He is also the pastor at Infinity Mennonite Church in Harlem.
