Alan Norman has served as the Sheriff of Cleveland County since being sworn into office in December 2010. Prior to his election, he served as a captain within the department. His father, Jim Norman, was the former Chief Deputy of the same office. In February 2020, Norman switched his party affiliation from Democrat to Republican. He is also a melanoma survivor and publicly advocates for skin cancer prevention.
