Albert Berger

Albert Berger has been a Commissioner on the Lopez Island Hospital District (LIHD) Board since 2018 and serves as the Chair of the LIHD Finance Committee. He was a faculty member at the University of Washington School of Medicine for over 30 years, where he taught biomedical science courses and led a major research laboratory funded by the National Institutes of Health. Berger also served as Vice Dean of the Medical School, overseeing the Office of Research. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of California, San Francisco. He has been a permanent resident of Lopez Island for over a decade.
