Alexander Portelli is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps with career experience as a farmer, small business owner, and in real estate. Born in Albany, New York, he previously ran for mayor of the city in 2013. Portelli is currently running for the Republican nomination to represent New York's 19th Congressional District in the 2026 election, campaigning on policies including the abolition of the federal income tax for individuals and businesses earning under $1 million annually.
