Alexander Uballez served as the United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico under the Biden administration. He was nominated by President Joe Biden and confirmed in May 2022. As a state prosecutor, he specialized in crimes against children, and as a federal prosecutor, he focused on drug trafficking cartels. He was a key figure in launching Albuquerque's Violence Intervention Program. He was removed from his U.S. Attorney position in February 2025.
