Alissa Ellman is a U.S. Army veteran and a Democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in New York's 24th Congressional District. Raised in Allegany County, she served at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan. Following her military service, Ellman worked as a special education teacher in Lockport, New York, for about a decade. She most recently worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Buffalo, assisting veterans in securing their benefits.
