Allan W. Schauber

Allan W. Schauber is a Democratic candidate for Judge of the Orphans' Court in Kent County, Maryland, a position he has held since his 2022 election. Born in Chestertown in 1957, he attended Kent County High School before beginning a career in public service and local business. Schauber served as a firefighter with the Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire and Emergency Services from 1982 until his 2007 retirement, and has volunteered with the Kent & Queen Anne Rescue Squad. He is an accomplished decoy carver who has operated miniature carving and framing businesses in Chestertown since the 1970s, and has worked as a funeral assistant since 2014.
