Allen Buansi is a civil rights attorney and a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives for District 56, an office he has held since June 2022. He previously served on the Chapel Hill Town Council from 2017 to 2021. Raised in Chapel Hill, Buansi is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of North Carolina School of Law. His legal career has included roles as an assistant city attorney and work with the UNC Center for Civil Rights. Governor Roy Cooper appointed him to the Local Government Retirement System Board of Trustees, where he served from 2018 to 2021.
