Alli Krist is a Democratic candidate for the Democratic Central Committee in Howard County, Maryland. A former teacher who left the education field during the pandemic, she is now a dedicated local small business owner. In 2022, she and her husband, Matt, opened Backwater Books, an independent bookstore located in historic Old Ellicott City. Her bookstore actively supports the local arts and literature scene by hosting community book clubs, writing groups, and live music events. Krist is also a community advocate who has publicly backed essential local initiatives, including Ellicott City flood mitigation projects and expanded transit options.
