Alma Taylor-Pleasant is an incumbent member of the Compton Unified School District school board, representing Trustee Area E. She first assumed office in 2016 and her current term is set to expire in June 2026. A native of Compton, she was educated in the Compton Unified School District and graduated from David Starr Jordan High School in 1978. She later attended Long Beach Business College, receiving a certificate in Business Administration in 1981. Pleasant is a mother of two and a grandmother. In February 2025, she launched "Alma's CUSD Boutique" at Dominguez High School, an initiative to provide students with free clothing to boost their confidence.
