Alma Taylor-Pleasant is an incumbent member of the Compton Unified School District school board, representing Trustee Area E. A native of Compton, she was educated in the Compton Unified School District and graduated from David Starr Jordan High School in 1978. She later attended Long Beach Business College, receiving a certificate in Business Administration in 1981. Pleasant is a mother of two and a grandmother. In February 2025, she launched "Alma's CUSD Boutique" at Dominguez High School, an initiative to provide students with free clothing to boost their confidence.
